Ofcourse summer is same all around the world, but there is always a cultural touch to every thing, every season, no matter where you are coming from. Packaging:
I must mention here that zenpop has put their effort in the packaging. The box is made out of a sturdy cardboard with a solid fun and bright coloured printing on it which is simple yet loud. The contents of the box are enclosed in a tissue paper to hold it in a place.
A beautiful thankyou note with a discount code for next order, and a pamphlet for all the details and description of the items included in a pack, plus a little japanese vocabulary that is fruits names , which needs to be mark 10/10.
My Thoughts:
This month’s stationery pack is all inspired by japanese summer. Summer is considered as one of the most fun weather of the year in Japan as there are events, festivals, games, food and fireworks being involved. Lets get an insight of the japanese culture in the products.
Flake Stickers
This is the most beachy vibed item in the box, a soft pastel coloured shell fish inpired sticky notes will take you back to your beach days. Unlike the normal stickers, these are really thin and very well gold foiled printed on it. The pack includes 45 stickers of different types of shells.
Planner Sticky Notes
It is not a surprise for me that there is always an item in the zenpop’s pack that left me in happiness with its overloaded cuteness. The cutest planner sticky note is been added in august pack, which is quite useful too. I ll stick those in my bullet journal to mark off the to do tasks, or you can even use it as reminders.
Summer Letter Set
I will call this letter set the most delicate item in the pack. A very intricate letter set made out of Iyo Japanese paper. I recieved the watermelon design. Watermelons are popular in Japan for a game which involves squishing a watermelon with a stick while being blindfolded. The set included the letter paper, envelopes, and sealers.
Manet Washi Tape
Any stationery addict cannot have enough washi tapes, thanks to zenpop for always including one in their packs. This time they have included the washi tape in Soft Ice Cream by Manet. It had watercoloured icecreams cones printed all over it with the base being white. I think icecreams are one of those thinga that reminds us about the summers most.
Summer Post Card Set
As i have mentioned in my earlier reviews, japanese culture is all about love, warmth, and connection from hearts, thus there is a custom in Japan to send postcards in summer mainly. The set included 4 post cards. Postcards might look small but it leaves the never ending affection to the one who recieved it.
Mini Memo Pad – Small Animal Ball
Another memo pad, inspired by the game “gatcha-gatcha” , where kids insert the coins in the ball and a random item comes out of it. It will not be fair enough if i call this a single memo pad, as it has 6 folds and 6 different pads. All the designs arw inspired by differebt breeds of cats, being a cat lover i really enoyed this item this month.
Folding Ruler
A very useful item to have in any stationery set, a small ruler which can be extended upto 30cm plus it can also be used as a protractor to measure an angle. I got it in the colour blue, which is called soft drink.
Writing Utensils
There were altogether four writing utensils included in this months pack . Lets see each of them one by one.
Kuretake – ZIG Wink Of Stella
These brush pens are all over the instagram and had been in my wishlist for months. I got it in the shade “Gold”. These pens have my heart and soul. The smoothness you get out of it is unexplainable, the way glitter is floating out of it is very satisfying to watch. I had a great time playing with it. Definitely my most loved pen ever!!
Sakura Micron Pigma Pen
Pigma pens are best when it comes to bullet journaling. They do not bleed on the other side of paper, or even if you use a mildliner or highlighter over it. I got it in the shade blue.
Pilot- Metallic Juice Gel Pen 0.5
I love anything- metallic. To be honest, i didnt know that pilot pens have metallic versions too. This pen is so pigmented. I got it in the emerald, these pens can also be used on black paper.
Sakura – Ballsign Pen ( Bonus Item)
I got the bonus item in my pack too. Oh not to forget, dont miss a chance to get bonus items in your packs by simply subscribing zenpop. Anyways , sakura pens are no doubt the best pens. It has a little shimmer in it too, best to write with it on darker coloured papers.
